Habitat low energy consumption:
It appeared to me immediately that there was a real complexity in the role of the inertia of a material and that of the insulation of a building. (A material with strong inertia is a material which spends time to cool or to be heated).
A wall of 50 cm to strong inertia but not insulator, if it makes 3° the day and 0° the night one freezes and 15 cm to insulate a frontage even in the south is completely insufficient.
The Canadian well, the photovoltaic one, the wind mill, geothermic, heating floor etc… are remarkable systems but are expensive and are in my opinion to be used if one has the money necessary in spite of the state aid.
Be drastic on the insulation of the habitat. It is to better put more money in an insulator.
That is to say 36 cm of panels containing wadding (of cellulose), very ecological manufacture,
treaty counters fire and the small beasts, very effective in summer, better thermal effectiveness that wools mineral with R equivalent, very good in acoustics and durable. Its price is the same one as that of one Monomur of 37 cm for a R more than 2 times higher.
Foot-note: all these products are used recently and must in conformity with the standards and be put up according to the code of practice.
My wall must imperatively have a R = 10 (passive super habitat)
External side I advise a wall of 20 cm out of brick hollow with very strong mechanical resistance cheap and presented like having a good behaviour about moisture.
All the glazing are in triple glazing with the reinforced insulation and with rare gas. These glazing are certainly the double of the usual price but less expensive than to put the photovoltaic one to heat the habitat.
It remains to deal with the problem of the ventilation of the habitat. VMC double flow makes it possible to heat the returning air can be a good investment but requires a regular maintenance.
Finally I advise to use a heat pump for the heating and hot water (with photovoltaic complement if possible).
